Wake Zone Espresso Cary North CarolinaSince 2008, Wake Zone Espresso has brought the spirit of the islands to landlocked Wake County, N.C. Owners Mark and Linda Hollamon  based the décor of the shop at 6108 Old Jenks Road in Apex on their love of Jimmy Buffet and the Caribbean. A local favorite, the Wake Zone was voted Top Independent Coffeehouse in Cary Magazine’s 2012 Maggy Awards.

Wake Zone customers, affectionately known as Zoners, enjoy a touch of island sunshine on even the coolest Carolina mornings. They warm up or cool down with a menu of hot, iced and frozen espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos and the popular Wake Zone Mocha. The Wake Zone Espresso uses Crimson Cup’s 100 percent organic coffee beans.

Italian sodas, fruit smoothies, frozen chocolate crèmes and hot and iced teas round out the drink menu. Zoners can feed their sweet tooth with fresh pastries from local Manhattan bakery.

Customers are invited to snuggle up on comfy couches or loveseats under the Wake Zone palm tree and enjoy free Wi-Fi with their coffee drinks and sweets. The shop runs happy hour specials every Wednesday and hosts open mike acoustic jams once a month. They also have a large private room that can be reserved for music or groups.

Mark and Linda learned the ins and outs of running a successful coffee house through our Seven Steps to Success coffee franchise alternative program. Our 7 Steps Trainer Steve Bayless recently visited the Wake Zone to refresh their training.

Congratulations to Mark and Linda on their success. Here’s to many more years of sunny island style for the Wake Zone Espresso! To learn more, visit their website or Facebook page.
