Crates Coffee House Celebrates Grand Opening

Congratulations to Andrea and Brian Rank, who celebrated the grand opening of their Crates Coffee House in Lake Orion, Michigan on March 11.
Crates takes its name from a family heirloom – an old coffee crate that had been passed down through the generations. In building the business, contractor Brian transformed an empty storefront into a beautiful and spacious gathering place for the people of Lake Orion. Comfortable tables and chairs invite guests to linger over drinks in the cheery interior. Complimentary Wi-Fi connects visitors to work and school.

Customers choose from a full menu of hot and cold specialty coffee drinks, including handcrafted espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and mochas. They can also watch baristas prepare pour-over coffees by hand at the brew bar. Frozen smoothies, hot chocolate and premium hot and iced teas round out the drink menu, accompanied by breads and sweet treats sourced from Lake Orion’s Great Harvest Bread.
Andrea and Brian started Crates after completing our Seven Steps to Success franchise alternative program.
“Working with Crimson Cup step by step made it easy for us,” Andrea said. “It’s hard work being an owner, but we love it!”
Crimson Cup 7 Steps Trainer Steve Bayless was on hand to assist with the grand opening.
Members of the Lake Orion Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome Crates to the community. Many of those businesses contributed products to raffle drawings held throughout the celebration at the coffee house.
Next door, Chicago Bros Pizza helped promote the grand opening with a flyer attached to each pizza they sold in the week leading up to the event.
The Crates crew ended up serving 360 drinks during their grand opening. Well done, Andrea and Brian!
