Brewed Together: Crimson Cup Anthology Celebrates the Art of a Well-Brewed Cup

We recently published “Brewed Together,” an anthology of java-inspired art, in collaboration with students at the Columbus College of Art and Design. The 24 pages of colorful comics and illustrations explore the theme of enjoying well-brewed coffee – either alone or in company.
“We’re continually amazed at the inspirational power of awesome coffee,” said Founder and President Greg Ubert. “It’s a great pleasure to share the inspired creations of this incredibly talented group of artists.”
Artists Peter Franz, Breeanna Seymour, Alissa Sallah, Kirsten Mischler, and Juan Argil contributed comics to the anthology. Anna D’Amico, Caitlin Quirk, Lindsey Kaufman and K. Fedorco provided illustrations.
Several of the works feature inspired characters based on Crimson Cup beverages, including Chai, Matcha, Cocoa Nib Nitro, Mocha and Pumpkin Spice Latte. Others explore motifs such as the revivifying power of a cup of Joe after a night on the town and the joy of spreading hot java love throughout the community.
The students learned to enjoy Crimson Cup beverages at the café in CCAD’s Loann Crane Center for Design, 112 Cleveland Ave., which offers hot, iced, and frozen espresso-based drinks.
The anthologies are on sale while supplies last at Crimson Cup Coffee Houses at 4541 North High Street in Clintonville and 2468 Northwest Boulevard in Upper Arlington. Half of the proceeds from each $2 anthology benefits local art programs.
