About Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea

Named 2016 Macro Roaster of the Year by Roast magazine, Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea has imported and hand-roasted great-tasting specialty coffee since 1991.

We teach independent business owners how to run successful coffee shops through our Seven Steps to Success program.

We also develop and distribute innovative coffee shop products designed to enhance the experience of each drink (tea, sauces and syrups, frozen drink mixes).

Sustainably sourced Crimson Cup coffee is available through a network of more than 350 independent coffee houses, grocers, college and universities, restaurants and food service operations across 38 states, Guam, and internationally in Bangladesh.

Our own Crimson Cup Coffee Houses in the Columbus suburbs of Clintonville and Upper Arlington serve as test labs for developing new drink recipes and business practices.

Sustainable Sourcing and Friend2Farmer

The Crimson Cup community rests on a mutually beneficial supply chain that stretches from farm to cup.

Through our Friend2Farmer direct trade program, we’re working hand-in-hand with small-plot coffee farmers. The goals? To develop better coffee and a better quality of life for the farmers, their families and their communities.

We visit small-plot farmers in Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Peru several times each year to:

Make friends and strengthen relationships,

Give advice on sustainable practices to enhance coffee crop consistency and quality, and

Help fund local schools and other life-enriching projects.

Seven Steps to Success

Crimson Cups believes in the power of independent coffee houses to transform communities.

Through our Seven Steps to Success coffee franchise alternative program, we help to establish and support locally owned coffee houses. This program turns raw recruits into seasoned baristas and coffee house managers in a matter of months.

Prospective owners learn everything they need to run a thriving coffee house – from developing a coffee shop business plan to choosing a location to hiring and managing staff and more.

Comprehensive, hands-on training gets each coffee house off to a great start. And ongoing marketing and operational support promotes long-term growth and prosperity.

There are no franchise fees or royalties to become involved in our Seven Steps program.

 – Comprehensive Training –

Over the years, we’ve found that ongoing training is key to long-term success. Our wide menu of à la carte training classes helps customers refresh skills and train new baristas.

Because every business is different, we tailor training for each customer. They can choose from on-site training at their own coffee house or classes. Or visit our state-of-the-art innovation and training lab in Columbus, Ohio.

Coffee + Community

We truly believe in the power of community, so the majority of the businesses we work with are local businesses in small towns. We want customers to know we have a vested interest in their success. We succeed only when they do.

Our concept of community has evolved beyond the borders of the small towns where our customers run their cafés, coffee houses and coffee shops to the small farming communities where our coffee is grown. Community encompasses our relationship from farmer to consumer and everything in between.

Our passion for creating stronger communities begins at home. We work with many non-profit organizations that fit our core company philosophy of giving back and having fun.
